Taking a first drive off-road in the 2027 Toyota Tundra! Exploring both the all-new TrailHunter package and the refreshed TRD Pro on the trails from Colorado to Utah.
Toyota is shifting its strategy for 2027: TrailHunter is no longer just a standalone halo trim—it’s now an accessible package available on the SR5, offering a rugged, affordable “blank canvas” for overlanding enthusiasts. Meanwhile, the TRD Pro steps up its high-speed off-road game with tech borrowed directly from the Tacoma.
What’s New for the 2027 Toyota Tundra:
TrailHunter Package (SR5): Features a standard 3.4L Twin-Turbo V6, unique bronze wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, enhanced underbody protection, Multi-Terrain Select (MTS), a rear locking differential, Crawl Control, and a hardy Old Man Emu suspension setup.
TRD Pro Upgrades: Debuts the new Honeycomb exterior color, a redesigned front bumper and grille (shared with the Sequoia), lower-mounted light bar, revised recovery hooks, and available IsoDynamic performance seats.
Suspension & Dynamics: TRD Pro now features Tacoma-derived Fox QS3 internal bypass shocks with remote reservoirs and 3-stage manual adjustability for high-speed trail running and jumps.
Interior & Tech Updates: A new steering wheel with updated controls, a fully digital and highly configurable instrument cluster, and Toyota’s fast, modern 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
