Mazda Motor Corporation has received orders for the last special edition model of the Mazda RX-8, SPIRIT R, which exceeds the planned sales volume of 1,000 units, and has therefore decided to produce an additional 1,000 units.
This special edition car is a 6MT car and is equipped with aero parts and Bilstein dampers, as well as a RECARO bucket seat exclusive to special edition cars and 19-inch forged aluminum wheels painted bronze.
This model accounts for 66% of all RX-8 sales.
In addition, the body color is available in three colors: Aluminum Metallic,
sparkling black mica,
crystal white pearl mica
“RX-8” was released in April 2003 and 192,094 units (including overseas) were produced by the end of March 2012.
Production of the RX-8 ended in June 2012.
Sales ended on April 11, 2013.
