It’s been 20 years since the last-generation Pajero arrived, but has Mitsubishi done its iconic off-roader justice? Jacob heads to the Adelaide Hills to drive the new fifth-generation Mitsubishi Pajero for the first time in Australia, then jumps into the old Pajero to find out just how much has changed!
With a new chassis, a 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine, an eight-speed automatic and a seriously upgraded interior, there’s plenty to get excited about. But is this a proper Pajero, or just a glorified Pajero Sport?
In this review, we check out the GSR’s exterior, technology, boot space and all three rows of seating before putting its Super Select 4WD system to work off-road. We also discuss how it stacks up against the Toyota Prado, Ford Everest and GWM Tank 500 on price and features.
