The Lexus LC debuted in 2016, four years after a concept sports car called the LF-LC charmed the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. People thought it was gorgeous. The name of Lexus’ extremely famous “LFA” sports car stood for Lexus Future Advance, and the name of this car, LC, stands for “Luxury Coupe.” The general understanding is the LF-LC concept name was a mixture of those two: Lexus Future Luxury Coupe.When the LF-LC concept appeared in production form as the LC, it was just as stunning and daring as the concept.
The Lexus LC 500 is one of the greatest cars of our time because in 2025, it’s a car from another time. Powering this car is a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 that makes 471 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. All of that power goes through a 10-speed automatic to the rear wheels, because this is rear-wheel drive (RWD), not all-wheel drive (AWD).
Currently in America, you can buy the Lexus LC 500 in a coupe and a convertible. You used to be able to buy it in a hybrid variant, but Lexus recently killed the hybrid after almost no one bought it. In 2023, Lexus U.S. sold 1,700 total LCs and just 37 hybrids. In 2024, they sold 1,400 total LCs and 18 hybrids.
This particular LC 500 convertible starts at $106,450 USD. It has a bunch of options, including $595 Flare Yellow premium paint, $1,960 21-inch wheels, $600 carbon fiber door scuff plates, and more. The total price comes to $120,425.
